The latest mandate by the US requires all travelers arriving to the US from a foreign country to present a negative result no more than 3 days before traveling by air. If you want more information about the testing requirement refer to my blog “Travel Updates During the Pandemic.” Due to the new coronavirus test requirement, many airlines are waiving the fare difference for customers rebooking international tickets purchased before June 25, 2021.
This new mandate is causing people to think twice about travel during a period, which is considered risky. Risky because of a pandemic, which is changing the way people are interacting. If you are one of those people who are always optimistic and can handle any challenge thrown your way there is hope. There is hope in the way of airline websites and international embassies.
For instance, if you refer to Delta Airlines website there is a link to Covid-19 Testing Locations, which identifies local testing resources for many of Delta’s destinations. Select your origin of travel to find testing centers in that location. Make sure you contact the testing locations directly for detailed information on cost, location, sample collection, and results notification. If you are scheduled to stay at an international resort, check your accommodations as well for details on where to obtain a Covid-19 test prior to traveling to the United States.
Select your origin of travel to find out about testing centers in that location. Please contact testing locations directly for detailed information on costs, location, sample collection and results notification.
Another helpful resource is the country embassy. If you look at the Ghana embassy website for example, you will see your arrival country’s Covid-19 requirements for entrance. The Ghana Airport and Frontier Healthcare Services Limited have partner together to provide access to Covid-19 testing for a fee. Click on this link to pay for a Covid-19 test at the Kotoka International Airport. The test they administer is the FIA-Antigen Qualitative Test (required by the Centers for Disease Control), which detects whether you have the virus. The process is easy and takes just 12 minutes to get a result back.
As you can see, if you are determined to travel there are resources out there to help you with any roadblocks in your path. During the current state of the world, we will have to be more ingenious when it comes to finding a solution. Please continue to use your resources, whether it is my blog or other informational sources. You may always ask me a question on my blog or email me with any questions you may have before, during, and after traveling. Be safe and continue to be positive because we not only have to take care of our physical well-being, but also our mental well-being. Check-in with your family, friends, and neighbors to ensure everyone is okay.
