Most of us are on a budget while travelling domestically or internationally. This is especially true for students and young adults who are just starting out in life yet want to explore the world. The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) is an internationally recognized by organizations like UNESCO, the European Council on Culture, and the Andean Community of Nations. The ISIC is offered to full time students aged 12 years and above (no upper age limit).  The ISIC can be used as identification (not in the US) in different places in multiple countries worldwide.

For over 50 years, every year more then 5 million students from 133 countries use their ISIC to take advantage of discounts on travel (1,200 airlines, buses, coaches, trains, and ferries), shopping, accommodation (2400 hostels and budget hotels), food and entertainment (21,000 restaurants, bars, and entertainment), 2800 museums and cultural sites, and 2,700 attractions.

The ISIC card is $20 without travel insurance, for an additional fee, ISIC has insurance coverage and provides three different plans of coverage basic (add’l $5), premium (add’l $79), and explorer (add’l $179) per year.
