How many of you have ever been on a cruise before? One of the most popular cruise lines in the world is Carnival and within their brand portfolio includes: Princess, Holland America, Seaborn, Cunard, AIDA, Costa, P&O (UK & Australia), and Fathom. Cruising is a very viable option for vacationing as 27.2 million passengers worldwide were projected to partake of a cruise in 2018.

The duration of a cruise typically ranges from 3 to 26 days, which includes time at sea and docking at the ports of call. People go on cruises many different reasons and include to get married, honeymoon, family reunions, vacation, etc.

When preparing for a cruise, you will typically want to bring your passport, however, if your cruise begins and ends in a US port, you may use your birth certificate and government issued photo ID at embarkation and throughout the cruise.

A cruise ship is filled with various fun activities such as shows, dancing, karaoke, movie nights on the lido deck, golf, swimming, and games. There are many services you can utilize on the ship, for instance, spa & salon services, and laundry services (for a fee).

Cruise lines often have free sailing memberships that allow you to earn points and those points offer member benefits. The total purchase price of your cruise includes: your selected room, all you can eat food, some beverages (water and juice), most activities, room service (excluding items you need to purchase), etc.  There are some additional expenses, such as gratuities, professional photos taken onboard, use of the internet and smartphone, specialty restaurants, beverages (soda and alcohol), etc.

I must admit much of the time I forgot I was even on the ship as it is a smooth and steady ride. I have never experienced any seasickness; however, it would behoove you to bring some medication just in case.

When a cruise ship embarks at a port of call, it is typically for 7 – 8 hours. Within that time, you are free to enjoy the many excursions available or purchase the many souvenirs available. Just ensure to spend your time wisely and return to the boat at the indicated time.

A cruise is a good way to experience multiple destinations within one trip. Cruising is a great option for people of all ages and there is something for everyone. As a vacation option, check out a cruise I am sure you will enjoy it.  Please share your cruising experience(s).
